Favourite 50 films of all time

An article by Nancy Amazon

Far from being a top 50 films of all time list, this list contains my favourite films of all time, and funnily enough, they don't all feature lesbians (though quite a few do).

What's the difference between a top 50 and a favourite 50? "Citizen Kane" and "All About Eve" were awesome films, but on a typical Saturday night? Pass me that copy of "Heathers". You know what I'm saying?

A favourites list contains films I'd pull out for entertainment because they are funny, romantic, inspiring, sad... or they just say something to me. Very different beast.

I compiled this list because it is sometimes difficult to gauge whether you and a reviewer have the same "standards" of enjoyment. I hope this gives people a better idea where I'm at. And now everyone can stop asking me what my favourite movie is!

Of course, there would be some overlap in my best of and favourites lists, but I'm too scared to make up the first list - this list was difficult enough, and it is constantly changing. As you can see I am a child of the eighties and nineties. Guess I'm showing my age.

(* yeah, this is cheating, but it's my list so... nyah nyah nyah.)
